Target note

Full name: PD-L1 (ligand of the PD-1 receptor)
Nature: Immune checkpoint ligand.
Normal expression: Immune cells, placenta, some epithelia during inflammation.
Disease expression: Many solid tumors, heterogeneously and dynamically.
Value: Combining targeted irradiation with immune modulation, and selecting patients by PD-L1 imaging.
Approaches: Single-domain antibodies (RAD204) labeled with ¹⁷⁷Lu.
Indications explored: Metastatic solid tumors (phase 1).
Points of caution: Expression varies over time; uptake in lymphoid tissues.
